Morgridge Community Engagement is a partnership effort of the Morgridge Institute for Research and the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation. LEAP Forward Interns will work in the headquarters in the Discovery Building, and see how their group produces a variety of informal science events for the community.
- Brainstorm ideas for new outreach activities that engage students with science and research
- Creation of materials to use in outreach activities
- Organization and deployment of materials at outreach events
- Facilitate/teach outreach activities with program visitors
- Work alongside members of Morgridge Community Engagement to develop and deploy summer programs
- Students will learn how to effectively communicate with a broad cross-section of community members that visit programs
- Students may contribute to the creation of new outreach modules taught to program visitors
- Students will interact with a variety of campus research topics as they are taught in outreach settings
- Science communications

- Several areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) research
