Workday 101: A Step-by-Step Guide for New Users

What Is Workday?

Workday is the University of Wisconsin’s online system for employment, payroll, time tracking, and personal information.

If you work on campus, you use Workday to:

  • Log hours and clock in/out

  • View payslips and pay history

  • Update direct deposit

  • Submit absence requests

  • Access tax documents (like your W-2)

It connects employees, supervisors, and payroll to ensure accurate hours, correct pay, proper tax processing, and approved time off.

For student employees, Workday helps you get paid on time, stay within hour limits, and maintain accurate employment records.

This is an accordion element with a series of buttons that open and close related content panels.
