Gear Learning at the Wisconsin Center for Education Research is housed within the School of Education and provides a dynamic hands-on game development resource for campus researchers, outreach groups and external educational partners.
- Playtest games in development and accurate report any bugs or errors
- Participate in staff meetings
- Engage in design thinking practices to assist in solving game design problems
- Research content areas for games in development and report on
- Participate in art or programming when/if the intern possesses the required skills
- Knowledge of a specific content area will be attained by engaging in design thinking in that content area
- Practicing attention to detail as well as communications, and documentation skills will be developed by engaging in bug testing and reporting
- Engaging in skillful participation in staff meetings
- Learning to research a content area and present the newly gained knowledge to stakeholders in a meaningful way
