Alan Avila is the Scholarship Manager for the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences in the Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA). He has worked within OSFA during his undergraduate years to help support the Student Employment and Scholarship teams and focuses his work in supporting students in understanding scholarships and the distribution of scholarships across the college. In previous work, Alan has worked at the School of Medicine & Public Health at the Population Health Institute supporting fellowships for postgraduate students as well as other programs while supervising students. Alan is a Chicago native and UW Alum with a B.S. in Communication Science. When he isn’t busy working, you can find him on the bike paths around the Madison area, collecting fidgets, and watching T.V shows with friends.
Kaila Bingen serves as the Experiential Education Specialist in University of Wisconsin Parkside’s Community and Business Engagement office. Through her nonprofit and community-focused leadership roles, she was drawn into higher education administration. A graduate of the Experiential Education Academy of the Society for Experiential Education, Kaila’s work revolves around moving the needle on equitable access to internships as well as pioneering internship alternatives, including high-impact student employment and work-based learning. Kaila is a two-time recipient of the UW-Parkside Assessment Showcase Provost’s Award for Outstanding Assessment Poster. She chairs the Undocumented Student Resources Committee, the Elevate: Student Employee Professional Development Committee, and the Campus Employment as a High Impact Practice Committee, and she co-chairs the Multicultural Professional Dialogue Series and Internship Steering Committee. She teaches internship and work-based learning courses centered around career development and critical reflection. Her community appointments include serving as a board member for the Education Foundation of Kenosha and the treasurer for Racine Arts Council.
Brock Doemel is an HR Rotator in the Job Rotation Program at UW-Madison, currently working with the Talent Acquisition team in the Office of Human Resources. He is passionate about improving the candidate experience on campus and helping hiring units conduct inclusive and effective recruitments.
Gautam Jayanthi is a Talent Acquisition Specialist on the Talent Acquisition Team in the Office of Human Resources. He consults with a portfolio of Colleges, Schools, and Divisions across the University to leverage best practices to recruit and retain diverse talent pools. He centers his work on creating a positive and inclusive candidate experience, while keeping a focus on bridging systemic inequities in both our policies and practices.
Angie Johnson, Assistant Director of Research Financial Services at Research and Sponsored Programs (RSP). She’s been with the university and RSP for over 15 years. Prior to joining the UW, Angie worked at a printer company as a Collections Manager.
Sadat Khan: Over an 18 year career, Sadat has a robust background in leadership, operations, and facility management in collegiate recreation, He is currently the Director of Facilities & Operations at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Recreation & Wellbeing department. He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Northeastern University (’06) and a master’s degree in Higher and Post-Secondary Education from Arizona State University (’13).
At the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Sadat plays a pivotal role in aligning the strategic interests of programs, facilities, and business services as a member of the Director’s Team. Leading a team of 50 professionals and over 400 student employees, Sadat is responsible for capital planning and overseeing the management of facilities and operations. This role involves extensive involvement in strategic planning, budgeting, and decision-making. Sadat has made significant contributions to the design and construction of the $88 million Nicholas Recreation Center and the $90 million Bakke Recreation & Wellbeing Center. Sadat also serves on the Board of Directors for The Opportunity Center, an organization dedicated to engaging low-income and underserved youth of all abilities through the construction of a $140 million community recreation and wellness center in Milwaukee, WI.
Megan Miller serves as Chief of Staff to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Health and Wellbeing where she plays a crucial role supporting the leadership at University Health Services and University Recreation and Wellbeing.
In her previous role as Government Relations Special Assistant in the office of University Relations, Megan managed special projects and provided day-to-day assistance for the following teams: Community Relations, State Relations, Federal Relations, and Tribal Relations. She played a lead role in managing local, statewide, and federal elections on campus. Other key initiatives Megan has overseen include the 2020 Economic Impact Report writing process and the Project Jab campus COVID-19 vaccination effort.
Megan earned her MPA from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University and her B.S. in Community and Nonprofit Leadership from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Prior to joining the University Relations team, she worked for ten years at the Morgridge Center for Public Service. As the Center’s Assistant Director of Civic Engagement Megan managed a team of 15 professional and student staff connecting campus and community through service and learning.
Tracey Pritchard has worked in Human Resources for four years at the University of Iowa. She previously worked for nine years in various higher education roles including residence education, student leadership, philanthropy, and student advising at UI, UW-Stevens Point, and UW-Madison. Throughout her career, she has emphasized the importance of relationship building, leading authentically, and creating unique and important partnerships. Tracey holds a Masters in Higher Education Administration from the University of Kansas, her SHRM-CP certification, and finds a way to get back to her alma mater, UW-Madison, at every chance she gets!
Timeka Rumph is the Associate Director of Advancement & Events in the School of Education. She has worked in support of UW-Madison for more than 15 years. She began her career in stewardship at the UW Foundation and later moved to Alumni Relations at the Wisconsin Union. Following her time with the Union, Timeka worked in annual giving running the phonathon program before returning to campus. Although she did not graduate from UW-Madison, she is a true Badger at heart. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, and watching football.
Kasie Strahl serves as the Assistant Director for Student Engagement in the Office of Student Financial Aid at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In this role, Kasie strives to create a strong student experience by supporting the Student Success Services offered by the Office of Student Financial Aid; which include Success Coaching, the Be Engage Workshop Series, Peer-to-Peer Mentorship, and Basic Needs Support. Kasie also supports the student team that provides front-lines services for the Office of Student Financial Aid. Kasie obtained her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and her Master of Science in Student Affairs and Higher Education from Indiana State University. Aside from creating opportunities for student development and leadership, her passions are her family, baking, crafting, and sports.
Kari Temkin: With a background in financial aid advising, public service, and student affairs, Kari brings her experience in community building and collaboration to the Student Experience Manager position in the Office of Student Financial Aid. As a UW-Madison alumna, she is thrilled to be a part of a team that works every day to increase access and success in the pursuit of higher education. In this role on the Student Engagement team, she oversees success services, works with student employment, and supports front line services. She’s worked at UW-Madison since 2014 previously with the Morgridge Center for Public Service, the Chancellor’s Scholarship Program, and the Center for Leadership & Involvement. Her undergraduate degree from UW-Madison is in Community & Nonprofit Leadership & Women’s Studies and she holds a Master’s in Public Service and Leadership from Marquette University. In her free time she enjoys camping, playing games, watching and performing improv comedy, traveling, and spending time with her daughter, husband, and other chosen family.
