The second full week in April is National Student Employment Week. We invite supervisors and/or employers of student employees to start planning how you can celebrate and recognize the talented student employees in your unit and/or division during this week.
To help in recognizing your students we have organized free in-person celebration events. Please feel free to share the following opportunities with your students:
- Tuesday, April 15th 6:30pm-8:00pm – Free Trivia Night & Snacks @ The Sett, Union South (Registration begins at 6pm)
- Wednesday, April 16th 6:15pm-7:15pm – Free Ice Skating & Pizza @ The Bakke Recreation & Wellbeing Center
- Wednesday, April 16th 6:30pm-8:30pm – Free Bowling, Billiards (pool), Video Games, & Snacks @ The Sett Recreation, Union South
- Thursday, April 17th 11:30am-3:30pm – Free Professional Headshots and Resume Review @ Nicholas Recreation Center (Prior registration for resume review is required. Students can sign up here)
- Thursday, April 17th 4:00pm-6:00pm – Free Craft Night & Snacks (gnome canvas painting, coaster diamond painting, coloring, and jewlery making.
At the in person event listed above students will be able to enter for a chance to win an Amazon gift card or Amazon Fire HD10 tablet.
In addition, we have created a “toolkit” full of ideas and unique ways you can communicate appreciation to your student employees. This includes in-person and virtual gathering ideas, email templates, and unique ways to give individual and team shout-outs. Please feel free to utilize these resources and share with others in your circles. Thank you for recognizing your student employees!
